Hi,

My name is Natasha Shah and I am currently a sophomore Chemistry major at Quinnipiac University. While I was researching this past summer, I was exposed to a new way of approaching science- hands-on. Research is an environment full of challenges, learning opportunities, and becoming a stronger part of the science community. Scroll down below and follow me through my research journey!

Polyoxometalates (POMs) are complex ions composed of metals and oxygen atoms which exhibit unique electrochemical properties. In this study, the redox properties of a europium-bridged polytungstate, Eu[P2W17O61]   , were observed in the presence of different cations. A phenomenon previously seen in single-atom bridged POMs was observed in this complex as well. Additionally, the effect of concentration of POM on the peak potential of the last reoxidation peak is presented. Finally, the effect of the presence of Al   on the cyclic voltammogram of the complex ion is shown.

It has been an incredible research experience and I am happy to share it with everyone. Feel free to ask any questions!
